Multiple recently updated systems that I have both used k3b in the past to archive dvds. I want to continue but now ghost disks remain always multiple of the same in removable devices. They don’t appear in any file manager only in “Removal Devices” in the system tray. I can even empty or unplug the player (external usb player). only thing that fixes this is restarting the machine on both my computers one a laptop the other a desktop both running KDE garuda linux. This seems to cause problems with reading some dvds. how do I rescan for removable devices or restart some kind of service to make these go away without restarting the whole system or logging out or better yet how do I fix this issue generally. What steps can I take to investigate this if not fix it?
This is very likely the same issue as 493116 – Network Manager Applet has broken entries in Qt 6.8/6.7.3, which is a Qt bug fixed in Qt 6.8.1.
is 6.8.1 going to be sent out soon on arch? should I install the qt6-base-git or could that cause problems? in any case when the 6.8.1 update drops on arch I will try to remember to test if this is fixed but is it possible to make a notification or for some clever automation on this site to send out a message to me when the update drops so I can test it if I don’t remember?
I am currently running qt6-base 6.8.0-1
@ngraham it wasn’t the same bug as I’m reproducing it nowadays on Plasma 6.2, Qt 6.8.2 on Artix Linux, fully up to date. Literally I am only missing Plasma 6.3 because it didn’t arrive in our repos yet.
