Unfortunately this had to be removed/hidden because Google blocks KDE’s Drive client from connecting.
Sadly the software itself would work fine, however Google’s new approach to Drive access is to only allow apps to access “their” data and only give generic file access to those which have somehow proven that they need it.
So far nobody has had time yet to look into this “how” or whether that is possible at all.
What makes matters worse, of course, is that Google themselves do not support desktop Linux the way they are supporting even competitor’s platforms like iOS and have so far neglected to release their own Drive client. for users like us
Unfortunately, this is a shame for Google.
Moreover, they have recently made a change that forces fonts used in Google Documents to be embed when they are saved locally as .ODT files, which I hope will be reverted if many users complain about this.
I’ve been using Insync for years as a Linux desktop client for Google Drive, and I can say its modest license fee is worth it.
