Arch repositories are being used to source some packages, but there’s a lot of architecture work being done to provide a user-friendly, “hard to break” experience - something that hardware partners of KDE could readily ship preinstalled, without a lot of further configuration and intervention required by their users.
I manage to have distrobox working. I had to configure it to use podman instead of the default docker. It could be an idea to make it the default since it just work it is the recommanded way (at least on arch wiki). Distrobox is great but without the full integration that my “method” provide (with systemd-sysext).
I will start testing and setting things up next week again. Had lots of things to do like moving so need to setup everything first…
I haven’t tested too must systemd-sysext yet that I need to learn, but I like distrobox so much and since there is snap support haven’t needed yet any tweaking
