I just rebuilt my workstation and installed Kubuntu 24.10. Now I’m trying to customize the desktop.
What I would like is for the Desktop Pager to be bigger, so that I can read the names of the desktops. I’d also like the control panel to go flush to the right side.
I’ve futzed with this for some time now and I just can’t seem to get it to look the way I want it to. But, I’ve had it right, before; I just can’t remember how.
you can either make the panel thicker or you can reduce the number of virtual desktops you can view in pager… i frankly see no value in naming them other than numbering them and even then i don’t display the numbers.
as for the system tray you can add a spacer between the task manager and system tray that will flex everything to the end (and/or delete the spacer at the end if there is one).
Well, making the panel bigger and adding a margin separator got me pretty close to what I want. At least now, the control panel is on the right and I can see the first 3-4 letters of the desktop names.
I use a lot of virtual desktops because I usually have a lot of different apps running at any given time. I’ve just not gotten used to using activities to manage that…
