I’ve been going through many settings but I couldn’t find a way to either hide the Places on the Application Launcher or at least set it to icon only, and for the Application as well it doesn’t have a setting to show icon only, so is there any way of doing it ?

those appear to be a fixture in that form of the application widget.
if you want a more compact application widget, you can try the application menu alternative, just right click on the launcher and choose show alternatives
i prefer application menu over the default application launcher for this very reason (among others).
