Here's How To Fix QtCurve Configuration Dialog

I tried several things over the past few months including waiting on the QT 6.10.1 update etc, and I was looking at the problem the whole time. Note that your qtcurve6-master folder may be named differently. I named mine to “qtcurve6-master” and added the 6 so I’d know which QT it was for.

Download the QtCurve source code from GIT.

EDIT line 48 of /qtcurve6-master/CMakeLists.txt

Change Building Qt6 style with KDE Frameworks 6 support from Off to On.

qtc_option(QTC_QT6_ENABLE_KDE “Building Qt6 style with KDE Frameworks 6 support.” On)

It’ll compile and the configuration dialog will work.

Running Plasma 6.5.3 and QT 6.10.1

HAVE FUN!

Thank so much for figuring this out and taking the time to share. Where did you get your original qtcurve6 package? The one in the AUR has other issues preventing a reinstall. I already have it installed but of course the configuration dialog doesn’t open. Do you know if there is a way to enable KDE Frameworks 6 support for an already installed qtcurve6?

Thanks Again!

I know “thanks” posts aren’t cool or useful but hey, this is a style/feature I use regularly, as I use nothing else, I went from liquid to baghira to whatever came next to qtcurve.. Bespin maybe.. At any rate, thanks again. I’ll give it a go soon. I

Go KDE!!! Go KDE Community haha..

I edited the original post to include the QtCurve GIT link.

There is no package that works for me so I compiled it on Tumbleweed.

Download the QtCurve source code from GIT.

Note. I compiled QtCurve on my laptop with the same fully updated Tumbleweed as my desktop. It’s actually a clone of my desktop NVMe SSD. I forgot to do the fix and it still worked.

My laptop was not updated since about March 2025 until December 2025, and the desktop was regularly updated. I didn’t see an update on GIT that would fix it. I have no clue what’s going on there, but compiling QtCurve works with the above fix to get the configuration dialog to open.

You’re welcome.

I liked Bespin too even though it was a little resource heavy on an older machine. I don’t upgrade until I can get my monies worth! A 10-15% performance improvement is not it! I went from a i7-3770K to a Ryzen 7 5700X until I could get a 5950X for $229. I’m happy now…for a while.

Kvantum is nice, but I like being able to use the background image in QtCurve. I use a wood grain image that I converted to gray. The horizontal lines look really nice but they can’t be too dark. I use a light color theme, never a dark one. A cross between Kvantum and QtCurve would be nice. Maybe KDE will add new features to QtCurve.
