Horizontal Line Glitches if color Color accuracy set to prefer accuracy in Wayland

Hello everyone,

I installed openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma desktop environment.
If i use Wayland and set my ‘KDE Display-Settings > Color accuracy’ to ‘prefer accuracy’ instead of prefer efficiency i get horizontal line glitches as can be seen in the video i posted on Reddit.

My System:

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20250420
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0
Kernel Version: 6.14.2-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 32 × AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor
Memory: 60.4 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor 1: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
Graphics Processor 2: AMD Radeon Graphics
Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Product Name: X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7
System Version: Default string-CF-WCP-ADO

I have two identical Dell 4K Displays (DELL G3223Q). If i change this setting on one of them to prefer prefer accuracy i get the gliches. If it is set to prefer efficiency i get none.

Should I open a bug report? I want to make sure it is one before I open one, as I couldn’t find one that was related to this issue.

Hi! Just to check, if you create a screen recording or screencast, can you see the issue showing up in the resulting video?

I’m asking that as I wonder if you’re running into a graphics driver bug, like what showed up in this recent bug report: 502905 – Display corruption when Prefer Color Accuracy is turned on

I tried to record the screen with OBS bit couldn’t detect any artifacts in the recording that were present on the screen.

Ah, then it sounds like a very similar situation to the one encountered in that bug report - there’s likely some sort of display driver issue at play, then.

The link mentioned there would be the right one for reporting issues with AMD graphics: Issues · drm / amd · GitLab
