How about a dynamic lighting feature for RGB devices similar to Windows 11

Windows 11 has a dynamic lighting feature that controls RGB lights on devices. My Microsoft Intellimouse Pro with it’s taillight was controlled by this under Windows 11 and I miss it in KDE. In Windows 11 it offered various effects such as solid colors as well as effects such as rainbow where my mouse taillight would cycle through the color spectrum. It’s a really cool feature that KDE should have built in. It should be built such that it should work with any device that has lights.

rather than try to have this built into plasma, there is already a project called openRGB that allows you to control most RGB lighting, including those on peripherals.

you can have the program run at startup and set all the colors / cycle patterns you like and save different profiles you can switch between from the system tray.

OpenRGB looks interesting. But the interface looks overly complicated. I’d rather have something simple like how Windows 11 does it. And I think it would be better to build a simple interface into system settings that would only show itself if you added a device that had RGB lights. But I understand that some people might not like to add more features to KDE because of bloat. If a program with a simple interface came out I would probably use it.

once you have it configured in the system tray, the controls are pretty simple
