Why are you joining the TestFlight? It’s available on the App Store.

@redstrate, because TestFlight exists to provide pre-release versions. It’s equivalent to the Google Play Store’s “Beta” programmes. It can also provide what the Play Store refers to as “Pre-release” applications, but I have no reason to believe that Connect’s solely does so, since the cited README mentions that its provides “testing” versions.
