I want to compress a storage device into an archive, whose resultant file needs to not reside in the PWD of the to-be-compressed storage device. Therefore, [how] can I direct Ark to create the file in an arbitrary location? I ask because, currently, all I see is a way to direct it to place the resultant file in a subdirectory of the PWD:
@Krovikan, that button is no different to entering the path into the QLineEdit that is to its left. However, I believed that that was where the contents would be captured from. In retrospect, when invoked from Ark’s “Archive” > “New” menu, what you state is sensical. However, when invoked from Dolphin’s “Compress” > “Compress to…” menu, it’s less intuitive.
