I’m currently using KDE Linux and I would like to use my iPhone on the local network as a webcam.
I used to use Iriun Webcam on Linux Mint to use my iPhone as a webcam, but Iriun only officially supports Ubuntu and Fedora. I tried using the Ubuntu package using Kapsule, but it doesn’t work because it requires the v4l2 module.
I also tried using VDO.ninja to stream it in as a browser source in OBS, but the OBS virtual camera similarly requires v4l2.
This page in the KDE Linux docs says that a virtual camera can be created with PipeWire, but I’m still not sure how I can apply this to get a virtual webcam from something like a browser window. There seems to be little info about this functionality online.
Any help is appreciated!
