How do I get transparency in a color scheme?

In this screenshot, the settings show that the window background is transparent, that was how the color scheme came. But I can’t seem to change any of the other colors to have transparency. Does anyone know how to edit the color scheme to get transparency without using a kwin script or window rule?

I wish KColorSchemeEditor included each and every element available in that list, and worked fully, including opacity level.
But I’m afraid one has to do most of such complex tasks manually editing the plain text files (*.colors) under ~/.local/share/color-schemes which seems very complicated. Apparently, adding a fourth value to existing 3 RGB values means adding opacity level, but how it’s reflected in actual windows seems too complex. The results also change as KWin changes behavior under active development.

If you’re using breeze application style, I’m afraid this isn’t possible ( unless this changed in 6-ish, in that case, my bad). You’ll need something like, for example, Lightly and add values between 0-255 to the color scheme. What exactly depends on your prefs.

Here’s an example with several transparency settings:

Thanks, I will try this. I am using darkly application style which is a fork of lightly.

Never used darkly but if it supports the stuff, it all comes down to ( hardly “complex” editing of the color scheme and what exactly you’re aiming for.

I use Darkly as well, in combination with Better Blur DX
