I want to view Comment primarily, not Name, but I can only drag it to 2nd place.
You can’t; Name is always the first column.
Would a bug for it be useful? I’d love to be able to do this. I think Windows’s Explorer lets the user do so, so it does seem like a missing feature.
If you look at https://bugs.kde.org/weekly-bug-summary.cgi, you can see that dolphin has the 3rd-highest number of open bug reports (and also quite a lot of open feature requests) of all KDE projects, despite being only one single app. So clearly there’s not enough developer attention on the app to even keep up with current needs.
Make of that what you will, but I would suggest that the best way to make this happen is to do it yourself by submitting a merge request for it.
I promise I will contribute what I can when I’m able to (but just installing Kirigami is somehow proving too much for me currently). I don’t want to waste your time with bad code (yet!)
Dolphin doesn’t use Kirigami, FWIW.
But why can’t you install it? Just use the package manager.
Yeah, apologies, @ngraham. (That’s rather obvious by its mouse-focused UI.) I only meant that trying to get kirigami installed has been painful enough that I expected this might take a while. XD
It installed; QML just doesn’t find the library, so I can only surmise that it must be somehow installed incorrectly.
What does that mean? This is getting off the topic of Dolphin, so maybe start a new thread about it in the Development section.
I’ve enough duplicate threads about my issues with QML already. I’ll try to consolidate them. Thanks, @ngraham.
