How to handle bad timestamp?

I’m going through an old library of photos and discovered that some photos that were taken after midnight like the one below seem to incorrectly set the hour to “24”. I checked every photo with exiftool and whatever the issue is it only affects photos taken by a Nokia 7.1 but not all of them.

Obviously this is an issue for me since Digikam can’t handle these timestamps and seems to be using FileAccessDate instead. The “Adjust Time Date” tool doesn’t work so I could write a script to fix them but I’m curious to hear what others suggest. I’m trying to stay entirely within Digikam.

At least for the case of digiKam executing on a Linux platform –

  • I install a package named “jhead” and then use –

> jhead -ft «JPEG Filename list»

Catch-22 – AFAIKS “jhead” was last changed in 2023 – I have absolutely no idea as to the current maintenance state of that application.
