How to handle Digikam database when installing Digicam on more than one computer?

Hi!

I’ve so far used DigiKam only on an Ubuntu desktop but would like to install it also on a Windows laptop. My idea is to use the same NAS for storing the pictures, and accessing the exact same storage. How then do I handle the database? Should I keep the database also on a shared device and let both access the same database, or use a separate database on each computer (I have set it to store setting in pictures).
Grateful for any advice.

Magnus

What about storing all metadata in images? In this case every device will have its own database but with the same data based on images metadata?

Hi!
Thanks. Yes, that’s what I’ll do. However, changing some metadata on one computer does then not show on the other, right, until I read the metadata from the images again? Or does that work automatically? (hope this makes sense).
