I’ve been using Adobe Lightroom Classic for many years, mainly to add photos to Wikipedia. A very useful feature in Canon cameras is the creation of a JPEG sidecar file with the same basename next to the RAW cr2 file. This makes a difference for me because I can view the media very quickly and in other stages of my workflow.
It’s clear to me that Digikam uses the xmp file alongside the BASENAME+EXTENSION, and I’m comfortable with that.
My question is about how to have the same behavior in Digikam regarding:
-
How to avoid showing the JPEG sidecar file in the preview (without the need to group or always group everything, if possible)?
-
How to generate a sidecar file for archive images, such as gigantic TIFFs? I have TIFFs over 100MB, and a simple rotation makes Digikam freeze for several seconds (more than 10 seconds).
