How to Install Plasma Mobile on an IOS

I have an iphone 13 which i’d like to use as a secondary, but ios is too limiting for my needs.

id like to be able to run a different more open OS on it like Plasma Mobile or even at least Lineage or stock android but i cant seem to find any project that works.

i did find project sandcastle which claims to port android but its still in beta and only currently available for the iphone 7.

plasma mobile, let alone any linux mobile environment, does not show up i the results when i search for it and this is the only forum which might be able to to answer this question which i am also active on. thank you for reading bad grammer

I think the reason you don’t find anything is that there’s nothing out there capable of something like this.

Although installing some sort of Linux shell seems possible from a quick research, Plasma Mobile is a DE which sits on top of a Linux distro, things much more advanced than a terminal emulator. Linux distros which work on mobile devices are something relatively new (PostmarketOS, Ubuntu Touch, etcetera). You can check which devices they support on their websites or communities and you won’t find any iPhone among the supported devices, therefore there’s currently no chance of this working.

The closest thing I know of is a project to bring the communication protocol used by modern Linux Windows Managers (Wayland) on MacOS and iOS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqGbxKLtnQg

If iOS is too limited, you could start with jailbreaking to see what mods you can do.

okay making this topic feels dumb now, i got this Quote from the link you gave:

One thing you definitely can’t do, however, is install Linux on an iPad. Apple keeps its operating system and hardware firmly locked, so there is no avenue for Linux (or Android) here.

it is possible, but ill need a big budget. additionally on the same site i found something called an AltStore?? so i might be good for now

thx
