Hello everybody, I am trying to install the Kraken Desktop crypto trading platform, but it is requiring me to run it with xdg-open. KDE Linux does not seem to have this app. How can I get this installed?

Flatpak is the only supported method of package installation on KDE Linux. If you don’t find a flatpak of your desired app, I’m afraid you’re in unsupported territory. Nevertheless, you can check out other methods to install software. Most likely a distrobox container or kapsule would meet your needs.
xdg-open comes with the xdg-utils package, which should be pre-installed with the system.
I don’t know how their update system works, so if you are uptodate yet don’t have the package, you might have to reinstall the system? Another alternative is to use distrobox.

Hello, your username alludes to you being new to Linux. If you are, I would advice you to start out with a stable beginner-friendly Linux OS like Kubuntu, ZorinOS, or Linux Mint. Kubuntu will also have KDE, so the user interface will be exactly the same. I don’t know if you read the whole KDE Linux page, but it explicitly mentions:
KDE Linux is Alpha software. Do not install it on your non-technical uncle’s computer or across the accounting department at work.

I started with Linux Mint, and then moved over way on the other side to Arch Linux. I liked what KDE Linux is doing, so I decided to try it. Oh, believe me, it’s not my main computer. It’s an extra laptop I have that I use to play with. Eventually I would permanently get myself removed from Windows
Every version of KDE Linux has included xdg-open. It should Just Work™.
