I am having trouble migrating Krusader settings from one computer to another.

I am running on both machines:
System:
Kernel: 6.8.0-106-generic arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 13.3.0 clocksource: tsc
Desktop: Cinnamon v: 6.6.7 tk: GTK v: 3.24.41 wm: Muffin v: 6.6.3 vt: 7 dm: LightDM v: 1.30.0
Distro: Linux Mint 22.3 Zena base: Ubuntu 24.04 noble

and:
Krusader Version 2.8.1 “A New Day”

Using the Export/Import function of the ActionMan commands doesn’t work.

When I exported ActionMan actions to the file krusader-actionman-export.xml, it only included:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> &Enqueue in Amarok Append selected item(s) to Amarok playlist amarok Multimedia (I18N_EMPTY_MESSAGE) amarok --append %aList("Selected")% Meta+A

None of the actions I created are visible here.

On the second machine, when I go to:
Settings>Configure Krusader>User Actions>Start ActionMan
and click “Import useractions”, a file selection interface appears. When I move it to the correct directory that transferred the file to, I it does not display the export file, whether I create it with the .xml extension or without. In fact, it doesn’t display any files at all, even when I select “All files”.

Rather than wait for this bug to be fixed, can someone tell me which configuration files I should copy over from the first machine to the second, to include the ActionMan UserActions, as well as the toolbar settings and other configuration changes I’ve made?

I’d really appreciate it. It would save me a ton of time, rather than having to recreate everything all over again.

migrating plasma settings in general is still a morass in 2026

you can have a look a konsave to get an idea of how complex it is.

plasam could really use some help in this area an if there were a fund drive to “adopt” a settings save/restore/migration tool GUI in plasma i would donate to it specifically

can someone tell me which configuration files I should copy over

I would think a file to copy over would be ~/.config/krusaderrc
I went into my Krusader, did a few mundane setting changes and saved them. That “krusaderrc” file was the only file I saw showing a new time stamp under ~/.config

I checked with duck.ai and found a list of relevant files. I copied them to the new machine, and it worked!
They are:
~/.config/krusaderrc
~/.config/kmessagebox
~/.local/share/krusader/*
~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/krusader/*

The AI also mentioned these, but none of them were on my system:
~/.local/share/kservices/krusader
~/.cache/krusader*

The same files are used for Root Mode krusader, but are found in /root.
