I am using Fedora KDE Plasma, but I am stuck after clicking on “Get New” on any options icon, global theme, window decorations, plasma style, etc. I tried to install Plasma addons from Discover, but it also goes into loading.

it could be the server is slow… i would just try again later.
you can double check the server you are trying to use by going into settings > driver manager > software sources
the first tab should show the Downloaded from: pull down menu.
you can go into Other and choose a different server.
I am really grateful for your help. But I am new to this KDE Plasma and Fedora. Could you please elaborate on how I can change servers and from where, i.e., which settings I should tweak.
you should be able to find settings by clicking on the app menu icon in your taskbar.
or you can just click on the destkop, type “settings” and go to the settings link in the search result.
search settings for driver manager… it should be self explanatory by the time you get to this dialog
if for some reason you cannot get to this dialog via settings, you can get to it directly by opening a terminal and entering this command
sudo software-properties-qt
either way, you will need to supply your login password when prompted.
That’s *buntu-specific and doesn’t really have a GUI equivalent on Fedora.
In any case the problem seems to be with themes, rather than packages / drivers. Those presumably don’t come from the distro’s repo, but from the KDE Store servers via KNewStuff. I’m not sure whether there’s a way to select alternative mirrors there.

but now i’m curious why fedora would not have access to the same Qt dialog somehow by some other name.
surely, there must be a command line call that will bring up that dialog… the dialog itself is a plasma qt component, is it not?
No, that dialog isn’t an intrinsic part of Plasma - it’s not in Fedora or in KDE Linux.
If you see it as part of the Plasma System Settings app (though in the screenshot it seems to be a standalone window), then I guess it’s a plugin that Kubuntu has created?
If you want to change how Fedora chooses mirrors to fetch packages from, you’re down to editing text files. (But that’s moot here since we’re talking about themes from the KDE store, not from the distro.)
The KDE Plasma theme store started working and got loaded suddenly, out of nowhere. Thank you, community, for helping me out.
So (I tracked this down with the help of error logs that you posted in another thread today), this is KDE software that lives on KDE Invent, but it’s a Kubuntu-specific module.
