If I open kontact, switch to akkregator, switch to kmail, click “check mail”, switch back to akkregator, click “fetch all feeds” and the immediately close kontact, it crashes. Then gdb fills my ram with 8.9gb of information and closes after a couple of minutes.
Normal behavior? Should I file a bug report?
Hi - gdb running in the background with a huge amount of RAM sounds like Dr. Konqi is already running and is using it to prepare debug information.
If you’ve been able to identify consistent steps to reproduce a crash like that, then that sounds like a good candidate for filing a bug report. That way, folks can see what steps you followed, along with the corresponding backtrace: Guidelines and HOWTOs/Debugging/How to create useful crash reports - KDE Community Wiki
