I KNOW there is a way to run dolphin with scaled up fonts incl. the sidebars, but HOW?!

Because some time ago, i had the MEGAdrive linux client installed in KDE Plasma 6.x

And then somewhere in the settings of that client, there was an option to ‘Show in folder’

And clicking that opened up Dolphin with large beautiful scaled up fonts, ALL fonts including the side panels, and i was like WOW, this is what i want!

Sadly i just spent half an hour trying to recreate it, and i can’t. I assume the MEGAdrive app has been updated, and they have considered it a bug. Otherwise i would have taken screen shots.

But i have seen it with my own eyes, and so i know it IS possible to do, the question is: HOW?!

It is pure stupidity that when you enlarge the icons with ctrl + mouse wheel, the damn text stays tiny, and so usability remains very bad! And no i don’t want to scale the entire desktop, only Dolphin. When it happened, Dolphin’s fonts were like atleast 3x the other general KDE fonts, and it was a thing of beauty.

Thanks for any help!

You can:

Change Dolphin font and its size.

You can also run dolphin with a scale factor hint

QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1.5 dolphin

QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1.5 dolphin was the answer, thank you so much.

Still, there should be a slider so one could scale this in realtime.. But this is better than nothing, appreciate the help.

My next issue is how to run dolphin with active and inactive opacity, without the icons and thumbnails being opaque, but i maybe should start a new thread for that.
