Hey everyone, I built a small desktop pet using Konqi, KDE’s mascot. He walks, climbs walls, sleeps, waves, and randomly pops up dialogs to bother you.
Built with Python and PyQt6, works on any Linux desktop (at least I hope)
GitHub: GitHub - rostikcermak-pixel/Konqi-Pet: A Linux desktop pet that judges everything you do. Walks around your screen, reacts to what apps you have open, escalates commentary the longer you stay in them, and occasionally has a crisis about it. Built with PyQt6. Runs on X11/XWayland. · GitHub
Would love any feedback!
At last a replacement for m$ Office companions
I found a bug: if we launch install.sh without venv, then install it, then relaunch install.sh, the env isn’t created because it detects that the .venv exists(even if empty) and skip the env creation step. And as always, more code comments would be welcome
It works! But as I was fearing, even in default mode, it is too noticeable. He should be a lot more calm and discrete (like old m$ Office companions)
Don’t have time to read
In the future, would be more cute if it was really walking with moving legs, climbing with moving arms…
