I upgraded and now I when I press print screen on keyboard button it doesn't work

I’d first double-check @dzon 's point, that Spectacle launching by pressing Print Screen doesn’t necessarily mean that the action of taking and saving a screenshot - what’s listed for that sound - has happened.

If you’re definitely taking and saving a screenshot, the sound isn’t triggering when you do it, and all the other suggested troubleshooting steps haven’t worked, then it sounds like a bug. That Plasma version isn’t supported by KDE anymore, and the bug doesn’t seem to show up in the standard Debian configuration, so the Parrot OS folks would be the ones to handle in whatever way they handle bug reports.

What exactly did you change to get the camera shutter sound effect. Your pictures was in a language other than English so I wasn’t sure, and couldn’t follow.

Sorry had to post the other PNG images here because I was told there was a limit for new users of one media file per post even though this is PNG images only.

I fairly sure it made it a camera shutter sound straight after pressing the Print Screen button, even though it wasn’t saved yet. Just pressing one key on the keyboard without doing anything else afterwards.

You want a single key CAPTURE with a shutter sound, right? If I want this on my keyboard :

I need to change/switch the shortcuts because, by default, that key will/can’t provide a shuttersound because the shot is not really taken. It’s merely a preview. So, if you want a single key WITH a shutter sound you need to pick an action ( entire desktop, rectangular…etc) and switch those because my keyboard, by default, is set to START spectacle. So, if I want a single button with a shuttersound and a screenshot of the entire desktop, I’d need to switch shift+print ( gehele bureaublad=entire desktop) with print.

Point of Order

i followed my own advice and turned on the camera shutter sound for spectacle, along with several other of the notification options (sound, popup, log, mark, speech).

and when it take a capture using the prtsc button (file is saved on my desktop)… i get none of the notifications specified.

however if use the shortcut meta+shift+print the notifications do work (tho it crashed spectacle when i did it too many times)

the, popup, and log features seem to be working consistently but the speech option only works on certain windows, while the camera noise is used for others… perhaps they are fighting for the audio channel.

Thanks, I heard the camera sound using the above keys manually pressing down on them on my keyboard and then selecting the area by dragging mouse then pressing enter which generated the audio of camera snapping. But in the past I never had to go thru so many steps. Is there a way to streamline this down even further to a couple of steps or even one press of the key?

Thanks dzon, I swapped meta +shift+print screen keys for print screen, so we went from 3 keys to just one, and now finally after many months I can hear the camera sound by pressing one key. The odd thing is when I used Spectacle there was no need for me to swap the shortcut keys. Spectacle came bundled in my operating as is.

Thank you dzon, skyfishgoo and johndmegh for your help, we managed to solve this together as the K-Team.
