Icon dissorder after screen wakeup

Hi,

Every time my screen goes into sleep mode, the next time I log in, all the icons are rearranged.

It’s very annoying to place all the icons back in their original position again. Can someone help me?

Thanks.

I noticed it’s every time that I shutdown the screen and power on again!

What do you mean with original position?
If you mean you could arrange your icons freely to where you wanted until 2 days ago, they stayed there over several sessions, shutdown and power-ons and yesterday that suddenly changed.
That would surprise me, last time I have seen that working was years ago and apparently they are still working on a fix.

I have my desktop icons organized by category, but when I turn off the screen and turn it back on, I find them arranged in a straight line. It completely disrupts the grid I had set up.

For me regardless what I do or what setting I tried they always arrange themself straight on top of my primary display alphabetically. That is a long known, apparently hard to fix bug that even was there in Plasma 5, i think in the very early Plasma 5 days it worked(?), but I’m not really sure anymore because that was so long ago.

Not tried with Plasma 6.2.1 yet, though. As I just managed to get that working.

As a not ideal workaround, for some stuff I wanted quick access, I have placed a “Folder view” widget (not sure what it is really called in English, because my KDE is set to German) that points to a special Directory I have created containing some icons (dot-desktop files). That kinda “works” but has a black background, maybe different colour in other Themes, that in contrast to other widgets not can be set transparent.

Thanks!

I will try.
