Imported transactions get split incorrectly

Hi - I have KMyMoney 5.1.3 on Kubuntu 24.11, KDE Frameworks
Version 5.116.0.

When I import transactions, a lot of them get split, but they are not split correctly. They’ll get split with the values from previous transactions that do not add up to the value of the current transaction.

I have gone in to Settings > Ledger and set Autofill to No Autofill, and have also tried same transaction with the amount set to 0%, but the transactions still get split.

I’ve set it up to split the transaction into the nett amount and sales tax. With transactions that don’t get split, I can just edit the transaction and enter the correct category, and the split will be entered correctly. With the transactions that are split when imported, I have to go delete the split, enter the category in the split and save.

If I can either get the imported transactions split correctly or not split at all - it would be helpful.

Cheers
Don

How did you install it? I think you’re on to something with regard to the version. It has a heavy number of dependencies according to synaptic and it looks like the snap version might be outdated as the snap web page claims last update of 2023, while synaptic reports an update sometime in 2024.

There also seems to be an AppImage version of it (see the download page). So, if you can’t get the integrated version working, then you might try the AppImage version.

According to the synaptic package manager, I have version 5.1.3-1build16. Doesn’t mention snaps - I’ve removed the snap stuff and as it causes problems.

Last entry in the change log is from September last year. The source downloads appear to be from 2022.

Yes, that’s the version I see as well. So, ok, perhaps it’s not the install.

Since I don’t use the app myself I can’t really help except that phind seems to have some info on this problem and mitigations. I can post the output I have but, the moderators seem to frown on this practice for whatever reason (I can’t fathom it frankly).

Anyway, I’m sorry I couldn’t help you more than this. I do find it interesting however. As this sort of app could be a good idea. I’ve tried online stuff with Fidelity and so forth, but, there is a lot of resistance amongst the sources and it gets kind of tedious to change the various access parameters and whatnot.. Well, Good luck.
