Improved Remote Drive Integration

For my workflow, it is rather important to have synced files between multiple devices, and i use a google drive to achieve this. Unfortunately, I have discovered that plasma/dolphin’s integration of remote drives leads to this being harder than it should be.

This shows me saving a libreoffice document, and in the pop-up window, no remote storage location is available. In Gnome/Nautilis, this is not an issue as the remote storage locations are displayed as they should be.

While I could manually copy files into a local file, work on them, and then put them back into the remote file using the dolphin application itself, that is a big enough disruption that I simply switch to Gnome while doing this type of work. (If there is an easy workaround I would greatly appreciate knowing about it!)

I am not sure why this is the case in plasma/dolphin, but it would greatly improve my experience if it was resolved.

For anyone dealing with this same issue, it seems to save to the remote drive (with libreoffice, at least) if you open the file from the remote drive in dolphin. Not ideal, but that helps greatly.

Edit: I wouldn’t recommend this solution as some of my work is missing. I save very regularly.

Do you have kio-fuse installed ?

It might help here.

Thank you for the response, and yes it is installed and up-to-date.
Something potentially worth noting is that the window pop-up from libreoffice continues to look like dolphin even when I changed my default file explorer to nautilis (hoping that would solve my issue).
