Incerase radius of window corners

Is there a way to increase the radius of the window corners? They are rounded but it’s so subtle they still look square.

I’d like to achieve a look similar to MacOS or Gnome.

Ideally without using plug-ins. The windows are already rounded, I just want to tweak it.

This Desktop Effect works for me, you can tweak the roundness radius as much as you want:

thank you, but is there no way to tweak the radius without extra software? The windows are already rounded and KDE is all about personalisation.

I find it weird that there’s no option for it.

I also find it weird that the corners are not more rounded by default, it makes KDE look outdate when compared against pretty much any other OS.

Afaik, no, you can’t do that natively within KDE Plasma. There’s Rounded bottom corners for Breeze Window Decorations:

I’m not sure that does what you want.

You can also choose / download a different Window Decorations which offers a more rounded window look.

That’s why they let users write Desktop Effects, and the Desktop Effect that I sent you does exactly what you want.

I don’t want to sound like I didn’t appreciate the tip, sorry.

It’s just that I heard KDE’s native way of rounding windows is more performant than the GPU based way of that effect, so I’d prefer to do it natively.

I wish I could new why they decide to go for outdates designs without letting people at least tweak them without needing to install extra software.

No worries at all!

Your best bet is using a different Window Decorations which has a more rounded borders, those shouldn’t use GPU, you’re right that the Desktop Effect I sent uses shaders to achieve the functionality.

The reasons are often prioritizing consistency, stability, and compatibility with many app types over exposing every visual tweak in one place.
