This is a pretty specific customization proposal but let me explain to you my issue that I have with image editing/viewing applications and 3D software such as Blender.
Zoom & Pan Inconsistencies
I switch between input devices a lot. Mouse, pen tablet and touchpad. For the most part they seem to behave similar but one thing is inconsistent: The zoom direction!
If you hold Ctrl and use a 2-finger gesture to zoom, the up/down direction is inverted to the zoom with Ctrl MMB on the mouse and pen tablets.
There is a setting to invert the scroll direction, but unfortunately this also inverts the panning direction …
So as it stands right now there is no way to make the panning and zooming consistent across all input devices on an OS level.
Proposal
Is it possible to split the setting up into two toggles?
- Invert Scroll direction (Natural scrolling)
- Invert Scroll zooming (consistent with mouse devices)
This would help a lot with muscle memory.
