iPhone14 4k footage unable to be editted

Normally, I just drag/drop and the software requests a format conversion as needed. 2 things changed tonight. I’m using my iPhone14, basic video, 4k 60fps to record. .MOV format. And I updated Kdenlive tonight.

Anyway, it won’t take the iphone vids. Nothing over 5min. I’m not sure what it’s asking in the transcode dropdowns. Looking for a solution.

I set the new project to the iphone vid format. Between GoPro, Akaso, and other vids on this same iPhone14 though not set to 4k. I’ve not had this occur before. I’ve been taking the standard brute force trial/error xennial approach to all of this (as new software) as of year ago. This is the first speed bump that I can’t seem to find an answer to elsewhere or figure out over the last 3 hours of trying variations to get kdenlive to allow me to edit and move on with my evening. Unless it’s just an update glitch.

Hi @Zephorah, and welcome to the forum and community.

Thanks for all the screenshots but important details are missing:

  • OS
  • Version of Kdenlive
  • How you installed it (distro package or Flatpak or Windows installer)
  • Whether you are using the standalone version or AppImage

Still on a Windows10 with extended updates at the moment. Latest version. When I finish getting the Pop! laptop setup, then I’ll go from there, Windows free. For now, with this set of vids, until they’re complete, the old Win10. I brute forced it. Chose to convert to ‘Lossless (Huge files)’ on the dropdown and it worked.
