Is it possible to make the application menu button a custom shape?

i’m referring to the default application menu widget, but if your solution is general, even better! from my testing, i can only make it a square that doesn’t even reach the borders of the panel. this is a problem, as for my desktop, i’d like to make it look like this (design in figma):

is this possible to do at all? i know KDE is known for its customizability, so i assume so… but i just haven’t been able to figure out how. any help would be appreciated!

Mine’s round…

well, it supports transparency so the square can be turned into a circle or trapezoid or whatever. but i need to be able to make a shape that doesn’t fit into the square (like the picture), and can go to the borders of the taskbar.
