Is plasma 6.7.1 available for neon/

I use Neon, Fcitx5, and Wayland. After upgrading from Plasma 6.6.5 to Plasma 6.7.0, the Ctrl, Shift, and Caps Lock keys stopped working after logging in. I noticed that Plasma 6.7.1 was released on June 23, but I haven’t received the update. I’m not sure if this is because my proxy server doesn’t support UDP. Later, I searched for “Neon CI” on Brave Search, and the AI told me it runs on build.neon.kde.org, so I tried accessing it in my browser but got a 503 Service Unavailable error.

Oh.

I think best just understand how it works…

Plasma 6.7.1 is already available for Neon, Neon being the flagship ‘bleeding edge’ rolling delivery model, it pushes fresh Plasma at you as soon as upstream ships it… so all editions have received the update.

It came out on 23rd June - so it should come with your regular updates.

sudo apt update
sudo apt policy plasma-desktop
sudo apt upgrade

Try these out one by one… see how it goes.

The 503 error could be temporary.

I also ran apt update -o Debug::Acquire::http=true, and it looks like this:

By the way, I tried changing “http” to “https” in the URL and not using a proxy server, and the results were pretty much the same.

I have up-to-date KDE neon User Edition and Plasma is version 6.7.0. So 6.7.1 is not yet available - at least in User Edition

Ah, the missing piece.

So three editions are: User, Testing, Unstable and Developer.

I think they always pre-announce… so Plasma 6.7.1 exists upstream, but Neon is still processing it - packaging, testing and dependency checks have to line up first.

The build server does appear to be down still. I know that there is/was some reorganization going on in this area; perhaps this is related.

should be related to the build server. no idea how to quote messages, thank you

should i mark solution to any messages?

I think this one zeroed on the nail’s head:

I hope they’d update us on the progress of the reorganization

Hi.

In Telegram group of KDE Neon(telegram.me/kdeneon), Marcin Sagol says:

I think the build setup must be migrated to new infrastructure as the servers from bluesystems expired on June 30th. So until the CI/CD pipelines are migrated somwhere else, we cant expect new updates.

Considering that KDE neon is a Linux distribution developed by KDE, they could post this information on discuss.kde instead of only on Telegram.

Marcin Sagol says few hours ago:

Looks like partially the Jenkins is up already, though not fully functional.

hope they’d make a blog post about this soon

In Telegram, an user ask:

I have noticed many things happening on build.neon.kde.org, is there any estimate when we can expect the update to come out?

Rik Mills says:

Apparently things are queued up on there for release behind frameworks 6.28.0, which is out on Friday. So should be then if nothing happens to stop it.

6.7.2 is available in updates

Not only KDE Plasma 6.7.2: Frameworks 6.28 and Gears/Applications 26.04.3 was released together for KDE Neon user few days ago

I guess they haven’t got around to updating the testing repositories or they forgot.

I’m running KDE Neon Testing and there are no updates.

Still on:
Plasma 6.7.0
Frameworks: 6.28.0
Qt 6.11.1

Maybe this needs to be split into it’s own thread?
