I found an issue when using two monitors. It was observed on (Fedora 44 and Kubuntu 26.04) KDE Plasma 6.6.4 and 6.6.5. To reproduce it, simply keep both monitors connected and let the system enter sleep mode (or force it), or turn the monitors off.
After waking the system and using the display settings shortcut (next to the clock) to disable one of the monitors, the display management system fails. Both monitors lose their configuration, and the only way to restore them is by reconfiguring everything manually.
Has anyone experienced this issue or knows a solution for it? Thank you.
This may well be hardware specific. I expect sharing your hardware specs will help get better answers. Can you post the output of inxi -Fzxx?
Unfortunately, I migrated to GNOME even though I prefer KDE. I experienced this bug on Fedora 44 KDE on three different installations on different hardware configurations. I also tested it on Kubuntu 26.04. Let me try to explain it a bit more clearly:
1- Turn on the computer and both monitors.
2- Put the computer into sleep mode.
3- Wait until the monitors enter in standby mode.
4- Wake the computer up.
5- Use the SUPER + P shortcut or the menu next to the clock to disable one of the displays or switch between them.
The monitors configurations settings will be lost.
