Is there a way to use an alternate naming scheme for the backup files KMM creates when saving? I’m talking about those files ending in a number and a tilde.
Reason being, I use OneDrive to keep my data synced across two machines (one Mac, one Windows) and OneDrive doesn’t play very nicely with filenames containing that ~ character.
I’d love an option to save as filename.digit.kmy or even filename.kmydigit to avoid having OneDrive complain about files it can’t sync or can sync but can’t then download from the cloud.
I believe KMM has been using that naming scheme for a long time. I suspect the original choice was related to the tilde commonly indicating a backup file on Linux. I’d love to be able to suggest you ask OneDrive to allow the character in file names, but I know how useful that would be. I would suggest opening a wishlist bug for this at https://bugs.kde.org so it doesn’t get forgotten, even if it wouldn’t be high on the priority list.
No need to do that. Work is underway to have an option to replace it with something else.
