Kate, the Mint-Y dark theme is not persistent

I’m on Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon and running Kate 21.12.3 from the repository.

When I apply the system theme Mint-Y Dark, everything, even Kate, follows the theme as expected.
Though after closing Kate and reopening it, the themed window has reverted into a partly unreadable theme.

How can I make Kate remember the theme I selected?

You could try qt5ct or change the environment.

I do have qt5ct installed. But I had to enable all stylesheets in the configuration tool!
Thanks for suggesting me to look at qt5ct.
