Using: Fedora core 44

The KBibTeX that is shipped in Fedora 44 repo is displaying bizarre behavior.
First of all, is extremely slow and cumbersome, frequently consuming +100% of cpu.
But, most importantly, it’s constantly mangling my databases. Whenever I insert a new entry into an existing *.bib file, fields of the new entry replace the same fields of other references. Fortunately, I have back-ups and this has not ruined my databases.
Has anyone else detected the same behavior?
