I don’t want to use maliit virtual keyboard so I had the System Settings in KDE 6.2.4 set to Keyboard-> Virtual Keyboard → None.
Or at least I think it was set “None”, but today I checked and the “Maliit” was selected. So I set it back to None and hit Apply and exited System Settings.
After reloading System Settings it was back to showing Maliit as selected.
But “ps -ef | grep maliit” shows the maliit process is not running (so at least that is good). So the problem is that System Setting doesn’t show the correct selection which should be Virtual Keyboard set to “None”
The reason I don’t like “maliit-keyboard” process running is it uses a good amount of memory so it’s a waste to have it doing nothing. I can’t simply “dnf remove maliit-keyboard” because it’s a required dependency of “plasma-workspace”
I’ve gone ahead and made a bug: 2331046 – System Settings "Keyboard" -> "Virtual Keyboard" shows "Maliit" selected when it's not
