i don’t want to receive notifications at all. i looked in settings but i don’t see a way to get rid of notifications completely.
how do i disable the service?
Hi! As far as I know, notifications are a built-in component of Plasma, not a separate service like with Xfce, window managers or things like that.
Your experience might be different, but I’d guess there are some things that are shown as notifications that are still desirable - things like network status changes, or application crashes?
Just to check, have you already gone to System Settings > Notifications > Application Settings to disabled the specific notifications that you’ve seen and that you don’t want?
It also sounds like you generally want Do Not Disturb mode on, accessible from the Notifications system tray popup:
There’s no rule about how long you can leave that setting on - my wife has had her phone on Do Not Disturb for about 6 years now
