Today, the KDE application interface is 100% translated into Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR) in all SVN branches (KF5 and KF6, stable and trunk. I’m checking the translations and noticed something. In all KDE applications, when I access Settings → Configure Language, the primary language is Portuguese (pt) and not Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR).
The screenshot above appears for all apps. Portuguese (pt) appears as the primary language and Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR) as the secondary language. Portuguese appears twice as an alternate secondary language. This is the default. I don’t know why.
When installing my disto (openSUSE), I selected Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR). I selected the same in KDE’s system settings. I’ve tested it on different distributions with the same result (Fedora, KDE Neon, and Kubuntu). So, I think this is a KDE issue. I know how to manually change this setting, but shouldn’t it be automatic when I select the language in the system settings?
