KDE Connect can't use caps on Wayland

I know this has probably been sent before, but I couldn’t find any useful information on it. It’s basically as simple as the fact that I can’t use caps at all when using the Remote Input feature within KDE Connect specifically on Wayland, X11 works fine but I saw recently that it’ll be discontinued so I can’t switch to it. Are there any specific workarounds to fix it? I’ve tried it on Fedora KDE and CachyOS and they both present the same issue.

Could you elaborate a bit? I know the problem might seem obvious to you, but I’m not sure I understand.
So you’re using KDE Connect’s remote input, and I guess you’re switching to the on screen keyboard to enter text. And you’re not able to enter uppercase letters? Is that correct?
What happens when you do that? Lowercase letters? Or nothing at all? Does this happen in all applications or maybe only a specific one?
Please try to add as much detail as possible.

I just tried this on my end the way I understood your problem and everything worked fine.

So I’m using Remote Input on KDE Connect for Android and using my phone’s keyboard to send text and move the cursor from it. When i try to use caps, it’ll always send it as a lowercase letter on CachyOS. I tried doing it on Fedora KDE and instead of doing it on the letter I want to be uppercase, it does it for the next one instead and gets laggy beyond that point. I hope this makes it clearer.

So, I did some digging around the bug tracker and found out that the way sending keyboard input works through KDE Connect seems pretty curious. Some example issues:

None of these are your exact problem, but it shows that the phone app is not just taking local keyboard input and sending it to the host but instead there’s some correlation with how the host system is configured.
Is it possible you have a special keyboard layout installed? Or maybe some other configuration which is interfering with KDE Connect. Maybe it’s even the Android Keyboard?
I’m afraid this is as far as I can figure out right now, but I’d advise trying to fiddle with these settings and see if something changes.

There’s two ways to send text from kdeconnect, the remote keyboard and “compose send”, the icon beside the keyboard one. Does that help as a workaround?

I’m experiencing the same problem.

KDE Connect App version 1.35.8 on a Samsung Fold 7
KDE Plasma desktop on a desktop running Bazzite/Fedora
Fastfetch says I am using KWin (Wayland) though I am not fully sure what that means.

Using the KDE Connect app to type sends all text as lowercase, regardless of my input from the phone.

This is the case for both the keyboard while in Remote Input mode and also when sending via Compose Send.

My keyboard layout is Faroese(Faroese) which is indeed a bit special, but trying with English(US) did not help(also regardless of send mode).
Similarly I have swapped between Faroese and English keyboards on my phone and neither changed anything.

Any particular kinds of logs that would be helpful? I’m pretty new to Linux still.
