Hi everyone,
I have a Blu G73 (Android 13) phone that is giving me issues with a few permissions. KDE Connect was installed from the Google Play Store (not F-droid).
Trying to set up two remaining permissions (Media Player Control & Notification sync) for a KDE connect profile between my phone and computer. Upon tapping “Open settings” (per the 1st screenshot), it does take me to the Device & app notifications page… but far worse than just graying out KDE connect, it doesn’t even list it as a selection! (2nd screenshot)
I’m aware of the earlier issue of Android 13 automatically restricting apps from these permissions and even making users jump through hoops just to turn the damn crap off (like what was reported for this issue reported by Drizzt321 2 years ago, but this is just beyond the pale, as now I can’t seem to find the menu option to the settings that govern those restrictions! (In the 3rd screenshot, there now isn’t even a 3-dot menu for the app settings)
What the freaken hell did Android change now to make my life more complicated? What new steps are we now required to jump through? lol
