KDE Connect Without F-Droid or Play Store

Hellk all, I’m currently in the process of fully transitioning away from Google services and most proprietary/unsecure software. I have been using Graphene OS as my mobile OS of choice. I’ve successfully sourced all my necessary apps through Obtainium, the Graphene OS App Store, and Accrescent. However, I’m facing a challenge with KDE Connect. Unfortunately, it’s not currently available through Obtainium or other secure channels, and obtaining it via F-Droid or the Play Store poses security concerns for me. This has become somewhat of a dealbreaker in my de-googling efforts. Would it be possible to obtain a secure APK of KDE Connect through another verified source? Alternatively, I’d like to suggest considering KDE Connect as a potential candidate for inclusion in Obtainium’s list of supported sources, which would be hugely beneficial for users like myself. Thanks for your time and the incredible work you’re doing on these tools
Help would be much appreciated

Download it from F-droid and call it a day

interesting thanks. The only issue with obtainium is that not all the apps are available, and and it’s a mess juggling the various app stores, Accrescent, Aurora, F-Droid, Play Store. Which is you strategy? You install apps only from Obtainium?

In anycase GrapheneOS suggestions is to use their sandboxed Play Store over F-Droid

I only use Accrescent and Obtanium because I want to try to move away from Google as much as possible.

And it is not worth it Installing Play services Just for one App that Should be obtainable in a better way.

The Accrescent and Obtanium Setup works great for me, expect Kde Connect of course:frowning:

I understand, but how do you manage those apps like banking apps that are only in the Play Store?

Anyway I want to thank you because after your post I spent some time to better understand Obtainium which I had ignored after my switch to Android/GrapheneOS.

I removed Aurora and F-Droid, installed everything from Obtainium and the few apps that are not available, I installed from the sandboxed Play Store.

Finally I saw that there are already some open tickets, try leaving a comment here:
