I originally started this thread on the Fedora forum, but someone pointed out that it’s more of an upstream KDE question so I figured I’d bring the discussion here. I also want to mention that I’m not sure if this behavior is specific to Fedora, RPM packages, or if it’s strictly a KDE thing. I haven’t tested any other distros. I’m a new Linux user, Fedora 44 KDE runs stably for me, and I’m happy with it, so I’d rather not waste time testing 2137 available distros. Anyway, getting to the point…
I can’t understand why in offline update mode Discover’s graphical interface is able to display package version changes and ANY progress bar, but upon switching to immediate updates, clicking “Update All” simply freezes the window. It displays no progress at all, you are just left waiting for the window to unfreeze without knowing what is actually happening.
Ofc except for Flatpak apps, but I feel like when using immediate updates, the Flatpak download progress bar sometimes glitches out. It just stays at 0% and then suddenly finishes, even if the package is several hundred MBs.
