KDE Mnu Editor show .desktop file location

Hello, I’d like to ask, is it possible to see the location of the .desktop file that is being edited by KDE Menu editor? Or what is the easiest way to find it? Because often I got an application installed, which I discover in the launcher, but want to see/edit the .desktop file.

Hi! Just for reference, there is an open report in the KDE Bugtracking System on this topic: 412852 – A way to locate .desktop files corresponding to menu entries

With the recent removal of the “Edit Application” item from the Application Launcher’s right-click menu, the best way I’ve found is to search for files containing the name of the application in the most common locations:

  • ~/.local/share/applications/
  • /usr/share/applications/
  • /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/applications/

Hope that helps!
