KDE SMS not displaying contacts this morning

I’ve been using KDE Connect for several months on my Linux Mint 22.3 systems. This morning, the SMS app does not display any contacts. I checked ~/.local/share/kpeoplevcard/* and it had a directory with contacts. I tried resyncing by removing that directory and restaring it on my phone and laptop. It did repopulate the contacts but they still do not appear in the SMS app. I tried the “Refresh” from the menu.

Other KDE Connect functionality seems fine; e.g., I can do Find Device, etc.

Looking for other ideas…

Clarification: It isn’t just that it isn’t displaying contact names and only showing numbers. The window is completely empty, doesn’t display history, nothing.

Sending SMS messages also has stopped for me. With each attempt, the following message appears in the Android devices kdeconnect-log

02-05 17:15:28.460 9481 13587 W Device : Ignoring packet with type kdeconnect.sms.request because no plugin can handle it

Just confirmed that this is a bug in the recent version 1.35 - reverted to version 1.34.4 and both sending SMSes and browsing SMS messages both work.

Computer version is 25.12.1

A new version, 1.35.2, has been pushed out to android to fix this.
