Kdenlive is checking while startup if VST plugins are available and some of these plugins can cause a crash of Kdenlive. A fix is in preparation to switch off this startup VST search.

The user cannot switch off the startup VST search.

Which means switching off the scan of VST by melt is working! Thanks for testing and confirming!
I found a bug though. Keyframe doesn’t work with Rectangular Alpha Mask.
I made a bug report on KDE, though I’m not sure it’s made in the right way.
I found another bug in the daily build. After clicking the Effect Zone, the effect becomes ineffective. (25.12.3 works properly.)
Hmmm, keyframes work but only for the blur and not position and size. I commented on your bug report
