Kdenlive for video photos slideshow?

I used ProShow Gold for many years to construct videos from still images.
With its many advanced features is Kdenlive a suitable replacement to construct basic videos?

If you mean to turn stills into MP4 videos, that’s what I use it for quite a lot, and it works really well. This is the sort of thing I do. Some historical photos, mixed with the current view for my area (St Albans, in The UK):

This video is quite long, as many people had to be edited, but you don’t have to watch the whole thing! :wink:
