Kdenlive freezes when "Add Marker" dialog box appears

Hi Members,

When I attempt to add a marker and right click on “Add Marker” the dialog box loads at a ‘maximum size’. When I attempt to reduce the size of this dialog box it disappears. As a result, I can no longer work inside Kdenlive because anywhere I click on the interface it sounds the warning as if I have to ‘close’ an already open dialog box but there is none to be found. I then need to close the program by using Task Manager and ending the open application. I rebooted the computer and still have this issue with the 'Add Marker" dialog box. Any ideas how to solve this issue? Thank you all very much.

Ok, I just discovered a couple of things: To recap, earlier I did attempt to close the ‘Markers>Add Marker’ dialog box by grabbing the top of the ‘Title Bar’ to move it and this did move the screen but it had no effect because the screen was too big and I couldn’t move it far enough to make the “ok” button visible (bottom part of dialog box). Then I tried grabbing the right side of the window to reduce the size and immediately upon doing this the screen disappeared and the Kdenlive program wouldn’t let me do anything until this “Marker>Add Marker” dialog box was closed (even though it was not visible anywhere).

  1. Therefore in order to attempt to remove the “Maximized dialog box titled, Markers>Add Marker” I simply clicked the ‘Enter’ key on my keyboard and the dialog box disappeared and all was good. I had to click the ‘Enter’ key because the Dialog box was so huge that the ‘ok’ button was not visible (part of the maximized screen was off the screen). As you know, clicking the ‘Enter’ key has the same effect as clicking the ‘ok’ button in the active dialog box.

  2. The I attempted to make a marker again in my video item by Highlighting the item, moving the play cursor to where I want the marker, then right clicking and choosing ‘Markers>Add Marker’ and the dialog box opened normally. All good!

  3. I also noticed (in the title bar of this open dialog box) that there is no-option to minimize or maximize this dialog box (obviously). There was only the typical “X” to close it. Therefore I have no idea how this box initially maximized itself.

All good (so far). I’ve been adding markers with no issues.
