Kdenlive thinks I'm still dragging

After dragging clips in the timeline and releasing the mouse button, Kdenlive thinks I’m still dragging. I’m not able to do any more actions until I quit the program and restart; sometimes I get the warning “Cannot perform operation while dragging in timeline”. This happens almost every time I drag and drop clips.

Kdenlive version 24.02.0 running on Mac OS 12.7.4 on an Intel-based Macbook Pro early 2015, using the laptop track pad

I’m a newbie and have the same issue… in looking up other answers I found clicking the “K” key sometimes works, it disengages the clip… but I also had to ungroup things… hope this helps someone…

What platform are you on? And is your machine on the older/more heavily loaded side?

I’ve seen something like this with the appimages, but pretty much only with the hugest projects I have, once they start getting to the sort of size where even the UI starts to get sluggish for many operations.

So I suspect it’s a race where mouse events are seen out of order, or maybe even lost - but haven’t dug into it more than that.

Hi…

I’m on windows 10 and 11… I’ve not had a problem on 11 though and don’t think my project’s too big, but I also think it might be about what mode I’m using… normal, insert, etc…

it is a real pain…
