Hi,
Does anyone knows when Linux Kernel 16.17 will be released?
I believe that we are on 6.14.0-35, but according to the Linux Kernel Archive, this is the situation as at 09.11.2025:
mainline 6.18-rc5 (Release Candidate….not yet for official release)
stable 6.17.7 (This could be included in a KDE update, as far I know it caters for Wi-Fi 7)
longterm 6.12.57 (a bit too old as KDE has updated to 6.14.0-35-generic (64-bit))
Thank you

As neon uses Ubuntu LTS as the OS, it follows their kernel and release schedules. Kernel upgrades are every six months for part of the LTS’ lifespan.
This puts the next kernel bump coming in ~February, to 25.10’s 6.17.0.
Ubuntu 24.04 started with 6.8, got 6.11 in February this year, and now has 6.14 as of August.
Thx for the update, claydoh, but I was an Ubuntu user until I found a new love with the sexy Kde Neon user edition.
